This isn’t my question, I’m blatantly borrowing it from The Social the other day and I’ve been thinking about it ever since and partly because I worked for thirteen hours today and am too mentally exhausted to come up with my own idea right now.
The discussion followed news that a night club in Britain will hold a charity event where they play Toto’s Africa on repeat all night long which, by their account, is five hours.
Guests of the night club will raise money by being sponsored for the amount of time they can spend in the nightclub. It’s a cute idea, sure, and a great cause. I’m not really sure it would bother me to listen to the same song over and over. I would think I’d just forget it was playing after the first few spins. That said, Kevin played a national championship with a team that severely overused We Dem Boyz by Wiz Khalifa and that certainly grated on me after a while. I still feel a little spike of fury every time I hear it. And I sure to hate to admit that I’m totally, TOTALLY over Don’t Stop Believing since they started playing it at sporting events.
What song could you listen to for an entire night?
Watch what The Social panel had to say here.
And here’s the song I’m listening to on repeat right now.
🎶We kissed beneath the street lamp light
Outside our bar near the record store
That have been condos for a year and more
Now that our haunts have taken flight
And been replaced with construction sites
Oh, how I feel like a stranger here
Searching for something that’s disappeared🎶
