I know it isn’t in the true spirit of the holidays, but am I ever excited for a long weekend. It isn’t even like we have big plans. In fact, it’s more like we have none of them. Well, limited plans anyway. And I, for one, would like to keep it that way.
My weekend to do list:
- A Giants Western Conference Championship game
- Weekly library visit
- Stuffing Easter baskets for my family
- A very traditional Easter family barbecue
- Many books
This 30 grams of protein per meal task is more taxing than I’d expected. It’s two challenges is one, really. The first: eat three times a day with at least 90 minutes of fasting in between. The second is the protein piece. I’ve just completed my second consecutive day, but I’ll be honest, my dinner protein consisted of an identical copy of the protein smoothie I had for breakfast on both days.
And why does it always feel like the weeks preceding and/or following a long weekend are always the longest. We worked hard for this, friends, let’s make the most of it.
How are you celebrating Easter this weekend? Does your family have traditions built around this holiday?
